Cured in the hot Qld Sun - 1-2 months

Burned under flame to remove the oils

Inside the flute - painted with Food-Grade Polyurethane (traditionally used on bench-tops) to reduce the chance of mould growth.

Outside of the flute - Tung oil and Citronella has been rubbed into the flute to protect it

Bindings - Nylon

Tuning - Done at 22 degrees C

Holes are burned with a hot metal rod

The flute is bound with Instrument grade Nylon twine,

Finally, the details of the flute are burnt into the flute body, including key, hertz reference, date of tuning. Some flutes are lucky enough to get some decorative patterns burnt in.
